ALL WINES AVAILABLE IN MULTIPLES OF ONE DOZEN ONLY
2012 DAYSPRING SHIRAZ
Our Shiraz vines start at the top of our property and the vines run down the slope towards the Cabernet which run alongside our winter creek.
The soil is a rich medium clay that runs between half a metre and a metre deep, with some rubbly stone amongst it. Beneath that is a thick layer of limestone which we have broken up a little with deep ripping by a tractor. The limestone layer is a key factor in the way our wine tastes and is a classic soil profile in Australia for producing premium wines.

2012 PHILLY'S BLOCK CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The Cabernet vines are at the bottom of our block, the rows running alongside the winter creek which marks our boundary. There are old fruit trees along here too , possibly 50 years old or more, from the old fruit drying days in Clare’s past. They are small fruit which are a cross between plums and apricots, plus some little pears and some apples which may be crab apples.
The soil here is heavy and stays wet well after the rains have finished - perfect for Cabernet.
We believe these conditions plus our mulching and organic fertilisers are going to make these vines produce sensational wine for many years to come.

2010 PHILLY'S BLOCK CABERNET SAUVIGNON
We harvested 3.5 tonnes of Cabernet this year from our 2 1/2 acres on the 25th of March - a late-ish harvest. Once again the colour is exceptional with deep purplish hues. The tannins are as you would expect for a dry grown cabernet. They will ensure great cellaring potential for this wine. There are hints of mint and wild berries on the palate. The caberent vines run along-side the winter creek at the bottom of our block- a perfect location for dry grown cabernet in the Clare Valley. SOLD OUT |
